Ahead of its time

Sailloft already integrated yacht sail technology in their products in 1998 and was also the first to build with adhesives in their custom made sails.

Even at that time our seams on our laminate sails didn’t need to be stitched. The reinforcements were entirely laminated to the sail. A method that can now be found in the Bionic Technology.
The result was a sail with an enormous area of application and a drastically reduced wet weight.

Today´s technology has been dramatically perfected.  With the above described method, standard cloth and x-ply was used. It is now possible for every part in the sail to have a tailored laminate to reinforce the cloth.- called membranes.

For the first time in the windsurf industry this fantastic technology will be integrated. The first sail of  it’s kind worldwide- Sailloft BIONIC.

This improvement enables us to drastically reduce the weight. The radial kevlar enforcements now take the load within the sail rather than the actual cloth. This is the only way the cloth can be thinner and therefore lighter without compromising the durability.
