Is x-ply material heavier than monofilm?
That depends on the thickness of the material used. Thick monofilm (175 / weighs 265 gr./qm) weighs more than x-ply, which is what we use. (225 gr./qm and 245 gr./qm) The reason for this is that the weight of the material makes it heavy not the number of reinforcement fibres. If you want to save weight by using monofilm than you have to use a thin kind which compromises the durability.
